Paris, my love...
Feeling a slight tap on my shoulder, with groggy eyes, I look out the window of the plane. Its almost sunset as Im staring at the magical city of Paris from up above. Arriving to our home for the next week, we quickly unpacked and started to get ready for our first adventure in Paris. Me being me, of course I took forever admiring the view and how much cozier everything is in Paris. Needless to say, that caused us to have to run in our 6 inch heels, to the Uber to make it in time to our Dinner Cruise.
The port to the boat is located right next to the Eiffel Tower, which upon our arrival, lit up. We were escorted to get our tickets and then to our seat for dinner. The atmosphere is truly amazing. There was live musicians and a singer singing soft tunes that reminded me of the songs my Daddy used to sing to me when I was little. The Bateaux Parisiens took us along the most beautiful and iconic places like Grand Palais and Notre Dame. What made the experience even better was the lively streets parallel to the river. There were couples picnicking, a dance class filled with people of all ages getting down (lol), groups of friends sitting and talking. I appreciated the close look of true Parisian lifestyle.

The next couple of days, Layla and I got our Parisian routine on lock. We would wake up in the morning, get ready and go to the local cafe for breakfast. Sip on some coffee and people watch (which is not frowned upon at all in Paris lol). We would then walk back, taking a different way so we get to explore our surroundings more. There’s a certain vibe to Paris thats really indescribable. Its a sense that you might running into the love of your life and run away to the country side somewhere to live a quiet life. Or the overwhelming feeling that theres just so much more than meets the eye here.
The next night, as we always do, Layla and I laid out out potential outfits for the evening. Tonight’s selections were a bit more glamorous than our usual nights out….but theres a good explanation… we were going to LIDO. If you don’t know what LIDO is, its a burlesque and dinner show. For someone like who was a huge Moulin Rouge fan, to be able to experience the incredible show at LIDO was amazing.
Wearing an all crystal dress, we go out of our Uber. I was happy that the manager greeted us at the door and took us on a mini tour of LIDO. Stepping inside, I felt like I was transported to another time. The velvet and crystal accents, the full band lit up in front of us… and oh darling, the endless champaign. We enjoyed the next few hours of the incredible talent that they have a LIDO, as well as the amazing menu they offer during the show.
LIDO Paris
We spent a couple of days exploring (shopping) our way through Paris. We met up with my Kerastase Fam and got pampered with an amazing Hair treatment at Coiffirst Salon, and took so many pictures I think we ran out of storage on our phones.
During our last night in Paris, tragedy struck. And by tragedy, I meant our travels caught up with us. Layla and I both had high fevers and were in bed all day. I think we basically slept the entire day, waking up to an alarm on my phone. As we were getting ready it dawned upon us that this is our last night in Paris. Getting into the car onto our final destination, I was so glad to have this experience be the last of our Paris adventure. Arriving at the Tour Eiffel, which is the restaurant located in the Eiffel tower itself.
I remember being a little girl, and running in the fields looking over the Eiffel tower. It brought me back to the time where all things were big in comparison to little 6 year old Jamie.. but seeing the Eiffel tower again, and walking under the structure that has been a symbol of the moments I shared with my grandmother as a little girl, I was overwhelmed by the size and beauty of it. We checked in and took the lift up to the restaurant. I took a moment to soak in the fresh chilled air from up on the peak of the Eiffel Tower. Walking inside, we were greeted by the Manager who brought us over to our table. The atmosphere in the restaurant was elegant and filled with exciting events happening from table to table. It was a lively crowd with some many of the same excited eyes, looking out over Paris.
As we get on our flight the next morning, I peek out of window and say goodbye to the beautiful city and people of Paris. It was truly a magical trip.
I also want to talk the time to thanks to the amazing Staff and Management at Bateaux Parisiens, LIDO, Tour Eiffel and of course Barbara from Prestige Sodexo for making my travels in Paris one of my most special memories.
