My Mandeville

The Mandeville, London

I’m not sure if its a blessing or a curse but put me in any moving automotive vessel for more than fifteen minutes and you will find a snuggled up, sleeping Jamie in your passenger seat. It’s day 2 of Fashion week, a full four days since we arrived in London, and I’m feeling the full effect of jet lag. As we pull up to our destination, I can feel my best friend’s cold hands poking my side to wake up. Layla always makes fun of how I cocoon myself into a burrito when I sleep so I can only imagine her face when she was trying to get me to be a human again from my current ‘burrito cocooned state’. Groggy eyes, I woke to glass double doors, white pillars, and the glistening of something sparkling from the inside.

Walking in, I appreciate the red accents, the almost flapper-esq decor with a mix of a sense of timeless London chic. My eyes were dawn towards the red miniature car they have in the center of the room and right on top was the ‘something sparkling’ that made me un-cocoon to come see. What I loved most about walking into the Mandeville is the feel that you are truly in London. From the neighborhood outside filled with all the stores you could imagine of shopping at to the friendly smiles of the ever so helpful staff at The Mandeville, you get a true sense of London lux living.

As much as I wanted to take my heels off and relax for a second, it was hair and make up time. We were on a bit of a tight schedule being that most of the shows and events scheduled, London traffic was not taken into account. - Side note, YOU GUYS HAVE HORRIBLE TRAFFIC! I get it, Im from L.A., so I sympathize with you. But 30 mins to get 4 miles, that rough.

For the past couple of days, Layla and I have been on this weird outfit coordination thing where everything we wore complimented the others outfit. It made me laugh because if you guys follow me on Instagram or snapchat, you will see that we end up saying the same things sometimes or do the same poses in photos, or read each others minds (Get out of my head Lay! LOL) Once again, there was dresses flying, making up smeared, and your two Cinderella’s were ready for the ball.

For the first show of the day, we were attending SS18 for Han Wen. His designs were totally up my ally and definitely gave me so much inspo for my music video. I opted for an all black, GUESS Blazer dress, vintage silver ‘Destinations’ waist belt, and a VOIDED belt around my neck. Layla had a Pretty little things buffer coat, Vintage checkered overalls, and a fishnet top. You could say we were quite the duo. Walking into the lobby of the Mandeville, the reception staff gave us a smile of approval and sent us off into the magical world of Han Wen.

Sept. 16th was filled with outfit changes, running, tripping, and the most amazing fashion pieces I have even seen. Finally being able to step back into the comforting warmth of the Mandeville, the chandelier’s sparkle seemed to have drawn me in like a moth to a flame. Lay & Jay being as tired as we were was not above ordering some Pizza. So with a little help from the concierge, we were able to stick to out Fashion week diet and scarf down some amazing Pizza at 4 am. Pizza Check, my make up off, hot shower done, I slipped off into dreamland.

It seems as though with every place I visit, my mornings have been the same. The slight buzzing of my phone woke me and I knew it was another beautiful, busy day. I put on my robe and slippers and walked towards the curtains to peek outside. Its current 8:15 am and the streets of London are just started to buzz. From the quite of my room, I didn’t realize the early wakers of London were already up and about. Looking around my cozy room, I never wanted to leave. The Superior room was more than spacious to accommodate myself, my twin, and our 6 lounges. The pops of color in the room, purples and magenta made for a more festive stay, while the floral detailing in the curtains and decorative pillows brought elegance to the room.

With the sun shining outside, we got dressed and headed down for breakfast. Time change and jet lag, my body wasn’t used to eating at what would have been late at night in Los Angeles…but all of that seemed to melt away once I saw the incredible breakfast they had prepared. I opted for something light but filling, and asked for scrambled eggs, while Layla explored the continental breakfast selection. The staff made sure to give us our saving grace in abundance which is an extra extra large coffee.

I was so sad to leave our little home away from home, but our next adventure was calling. Thank you to the Staff at Mandeville hotel for accommodating us and making us feel at home during our brief stay. I hope to see you soon!
