Makeup.
Did that just get you super excited… cause it sure makes me go a little crazy when those words are mentioned. There’s something so special about being a woman and being able to express, define, enhance, your natural beauty with make up.
When I was a little girl, watching my mom put on her make up, the little that she did just to enhance her natural beauty, I was always mesmerized but how a little flick of eye liner, and a little blush would make her face glowing and so elegant. I’ve always been a firm believer that every woman is beautiful in their own way. No amount of make up, little or a lot can define what truly makes a person beautiful.
For me, makeup is another form of expression. Its a way, I think, to put your ‘best face forward’ in a sense, even if you’re having one of ’those days’ you can still put a little glow on your face to lighten things up. I also believe that when you do your own makeup, it also shows how you view yourself. The little things you like about your face, you highlight… and the things you’d like to define, you contour.
On my Instagram, one of the questions I get is frequently is about my makeup. I figured that the little tips and products I’ve picked up from getting my make up done by some of the best in the industry, I can pass that along to you guys. Starting with one of my favorite foundations, The Bobbi Brown’s Foundation Stick.
Doing a collaboration with Bobbi Brown has probably been one of the most exciting things I’ve done in 2016. Bobbi Brown is so iconic for their wide range of colors that will match just about anyone, and their effortless natural formula that really lets the skin shine through. The Foundation Stick, gives me control of the amount of product I want on my face and where I’d like a little more. It’s been one of my staple Foundations for years now. Being that its a cream stick, it’ll stay on your skin rain or shine. I actually typically wear it during the summer time when the weather is a little hotter in California and I’m bound to be out in the sun more.
My typical day look, is starting with a good moisturizer, a aluminizing primer and a couple swipes of the Foundation stick. A peachy blush for the summer time is really my go to right now, a long with my typical winged liner, compliments of my Mama who taught me the importance of a fierce cat eye.
At night, just a little touch up with the Foundation Stick in places I want a little more coverage, mainly the ’t zone’. Some bronzer on the hollow of my cheek bones and a brown eye shadow in the crease to really bring out the eyes more. A bold red lip to seal the deal on special occasions.
